It has elements of several of their recent projects while continuing to bring something fresh to the table. Listen free to The Black Keys Brothers (Everlasting Light, Next Girl and more). Overall, the album is an inspired piece of work true to The Black Keys' way: it rocks and it rocks hard. Auerbach lets each lyric hit the air space slowly, with patience and determination. Auerbach's delivery in such songs as "I'm Not the One" and "Too Afraid to Love you" is haunting and deliberate. The pace of Brothers compared to some of their earlier works like Thickfreakness and Rubber Factory, is much more defined and fluid. "Howlin' For You" takes us on a modern-day cowboy's quest, and recalls the kind of grit found in Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Vocalist/Guitarist Dan Auerbach's voice is explosive and silky at just the right moments. This song has a solid arrangement and true-to-form Danger Mouse vibe. In this 15 track disc, it's still rather easy to identify the one Danger Mouse produced track, "Tighten Up". While these songs don't embody the funky jams of older Keys works, they do round out the album (as well as their range) nicely. Tracks like the Jerry Butler cover "Never Gonna Give You Up" and "The Only One" drip with 70's Motown soul. They're tight and calculated, yet full of hard jam sessions that would even make Jimmy Page proud. The influence of such musical greats as Jimmy Hendrix, The Doors and Led Zeppelin can be heard in such tracks as "Black Mad" and "Sinister Kid". Starting off with playful tunes such as "Everlasting Light" and concluding with slower rock ballads like "These Days", the album showcases their extensive musical variety.

It's full of rich riffs and rocking blues and even incorporates a new old school classic style. The Black Keys latest addition to their discography, Brothers, is no exception. They're audacious, true to their sound, yet still continue to redefine themselves, exploring many shades of blues on each of their albums. Listened by Sambrosia VINYLS I OWN by slimyisforever P.P. They don’t want to see a young black man succeed They don’t want to see me take my brothers out of the streets They don’t want me They don’t want me to sleep, they don’t want me to dream They don’t want to see my people livin’ good and at ease They wanna lock ’em all up and then get rid of the keys We ain’t never free 6.
