Select the drive and format your USB drive as Mac OS X extended (journaled) using Disk Utility. You can find it under Applications -> Utilities.
You’ll need a USB stick of capacity 8GB or higher. You can create a USB Flash drive using Windows TransMac (right-click on USB drive - Restore with Disk Image) and then if it contains a HFS single partition. We are only interested in the files that were downloaded. It will also launch the Yosemite installer app when the download completes.

This will put a file called Install OS X 10.10 Developer Preview.app in your /Applications folder. Download the OS X Yosemite Developer Preview installer from the Mac App Store.
